The AISWMD has found that the single most important PIECE to being effective with the State legislature is being proactive.  Robert Kuzman, the AISWMD lobbyist will summarize the legislative goals PIECED together by the Districts suggestions and review how our goals can be effectively shared with our elected officials on a local and state level.

Districts 101 & Annual Reporting, Debbie Hackman

DIRECTING 101: Whether you have been a director for 20 years or 20 minutes, this is something for you. This session will review the Indiana Code and will assemble all the parts of an Indiana Solid Waste Management District. Mission statements, training, public notices…..if you have a question….bring it to this session.

Lifecycle of Donations

Eric Schlegel, Goodwill’s Vice President of Retail Operations will PIECE together the lifecycle (i.e. from donation, sorting, processing to landfills, vintage stores, third world countries or recycling) of textile donations that are made at our local Goodwill stores.

ReTRAC – Basics, Common Mistakes, Helpful Hints & its Future

 Jennifer Lawrence (Boone Co. SWMD) & Jessie Biggerman (Johnson Co. Recycling District) will PIECE together the basics & helpful hints to navigate annual reporting in ReTRAC.  This session will also provide an update of what District requirements will be immediately implemented from House Bill 1183 from the recent legislative session.
